The Generalized Stokes’ Theorem

This paper will prove the generalized Stokes Theorem over kdimensional manifolds. We will begin from the definition of a k-dimensional manifold as well as introduce the notion of boundaries of manifolds. Using these, we will construct the necessary machinery, namely tensors, wedge products, differential forms, exterior derivatives, and integrals over manifolds, in order to prove the main result...

On the Non-Abelian Stokes Theorem

We present the non-Abelian Stokes theorem for the Wilson loop in various forms and discuss its meaning. Its validity has been recently questioned by Faber, Ivanov, Troitskaya and Zach. We demonstrate that all points of their criticism are based on mistakes in mathematics. Finally, we derive a variant of our formula for the Wilson loop in lattice regularization.

A generalized “surfaceless” Stokes’ theorem

We derive a generalized Stokes' theorem, valid in any dimension and for arbitrary loops, even if self intersecting or knotted. The generalized theorem does not involve an auxiliary surface, but inherits a higher rank gauge symmetry from the invariance under deformations of the surface used in the conventional formulation.

Generalized Coordinate Gauge and Nonabelian Stokes Theorem

A (coordinate) gauge of general type is introduced where 1-form (vector potential) is expressed as a contour integral of the 2-form (field strength) along an arbitrary contour C. For a special class of contours the gauge condition reduces to k µ (x)A µ (x) = 0 where k µ (x) is a tangent vector to the contour C. A simple proof of the nonabelian Stokes theorem is given demonstrating the advantage...

Non-Abelian Stokes Theorem and Computation of Wilson Loop

It is shown that the application of the non-Abelian Stokes theorem to the computation of the operators constructed with Wilson loop will lead to ambiguity, if the gauge field under consideration is a non-trivial one. This point is illustrated by the specific examples of the computation of a non-local operator. The non-Abelian Stokes theorem is widely applied to compute Wilson loop (closed nonAb...
